Day 1: Marrakech to Merzouga Desert
This 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will amaze you with its wide range of scenery and cultures. Get ready for a beautiful night sleeping at a Berber camp after camel riding across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Your trip starts early in the morning at your hotel in Marrakech. It goes to Merzouga via the beautiful Atlas Mountains, the historical site of Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, and several charming towns.
The Atlas Mountains are beautiful and tell us about the history of the country. The traditional houses of Ait Benhaddou and the movie-set feel of Ouarzazate show off Morocco’s rich past and present.
As soon as you reach Merzouga’s golden sands, the tour really gets going. The Erg Chebbi dunes are a huge sea of sand in the middle of the desert. You will ride a camel through them. In the middle of the desert at night, in the quiet, you will enjoy your time at a beautiful Berber camp. You will eat, listen to real Berber music, and connect with the timeless spirit of the desert there, under a sky full of stars.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert to Marrakech
We suggest that you wake up early today and watch the beautiful sunrise over the Chebbi dunes before going back to Marrakech. It is time to leave the beauty of the desert behind and start your trip back. You can be picked up by car or camel back to the village from the camp, where your driver will be waiting for you.
For short breaks, you will stop along the way to enjoy the views of the Ticka Pass, the Draa Valley, and the Berber towns. At the end of the day, we will get to our destination putting an end to our 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.
