7 Day Morocco Tour: Marrakech, Sahara & Fes

The classic week in Morocco — the Red City, the great dunes of Merzouga and imperial Fes, on a private journey built around you.

Overview

This is the most popular way to experience Morocco in a week. Starting in Marrakech, you cross the High Atlas Mountains, visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, travel through dramatic gorges to the Sahara at Merzouga, then continue north to the ancient city of Fes.

The whole trip is private and fully customizable — you have your own driver-guide and vehicle throughout, and we can adjust the pace, accommodation and stops to suit you.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Marrakech

    Arrive and settle into your riad. Explore the medina, souks and the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square.

  2. Day 2

    Marrakech → Dades Valley

    Cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, visit the UNESCO kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, then continue to the Dades Valley.

  3. Day 3

    Dades → Merzouga

    Travel via the Todra Gorge to Merzouga, then camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night in a desert camp.

  4. Day 4

    Merzouga

    Sunrise over the dunes, with optional 4x4 excursion or sandboarding and time to soak up the Sahara.

  5. Day 5

    Merzouga → Fes

    A scenic drive north through the Middle Atlas and cedar forests, home to Barbary macaques, to Fes.

  6. Day 6

    Fes

    Full day exploring the Fes el-Bali medina, its madrasas, tanneries and artisan workshops with a local guide.

  7. Day 7

    Departure

    Free time before your onward journey or flight from Fes.
